Bret Scher, MD FACC started Boundless Health to help clients re-examine how we view our health and healthcare. He firmly believes that Lifestyle Medicine is the best first approach for promoting health, preventing disease, and treating most chronic diseases.

Dr. Scher is board certified in cardiovascular diseases, as well as echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac CT.  With over 15 years of clinical experience, he quickly learned that the traditional healthcare model is inadequate for promoting lifestyle medicine to the degree we all deserve. To help remedy this, he went on to become certified in functional medicine by The Functional Medicine University, he became a certified personal trainer through NASM, has a certification in fitness nutrition, and is a level 2 fitness and level 2 medical provider with the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI).

These certifications help him further his passion to help others improve their lives through nutrition, exercise, stress reduction and other lifestyle interventions. This is the goal of Boundless Health- to allow you to take control of your health and your healthcare so you can lead a healthy, vibrant and energetic life.

Education and Professional Experience

Dr. Scher received his B.S. in Biology from Stanford University and his Medical Doctorate from The Ohio State University. Dr. Scher completed his internal medicine residency, including an extra year as chief resident, at Scripps Mercy Hospital. He then completed his cardiology fellowship as a joint venture between Scripps Clinic and The Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine where he focused on integrative and preventative cardiology. He is a certified functional medicine practitioner through FMU, a certified personal trainer through NASM, and a level 2 medical and fitness provider trough TPI.
